Ingredients

  • cooked and cooled ramen noodles (1 package) - discard seasoning packet
  • water (2 cups) - for miso soup
  • vegetable oil (2 tablespoons) - for cooking
  • sesame seeds (1 teaspoons) - for garnish
  • dried seaweed (1 tablespoons) - for miso soup
  • chopped green onions (2 stalks)
  • miso paste (2 tablespoons)
  • cubed tofu (100 grams) - for miso soup
  • tomato (4 slices)
  • lettuce leaves (2 leaves)
  • cheddar cheese (2 slices)
  • beaten egg (1 whole) - to help bind the noodles for the bun
  • soy sauce (2 tablespoons)
  • ground beef (250 grams)

Instructions

Prepare Ramen Noodle Buns

  • Cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions, then drain and let cool.
  • Mix the cooled noodles with the beaten egg thoroughly.
  • Divide the mixture in halves and press each half into a round, flat shape around 1 inch thick.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook each noodle patty until golden and crispy on both sides.

Cook Beef Patties

  • Form the ground beef into two patties.
  • Heat another tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  • Cook each beef patty for about 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  • Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty just before removing from the pan, allowing it to melt slightly.

Assemble Ramen Burger

  • Place a layer of lettuce on one ramen bun, followed by a beef patty with melted cheese and two slices of tomato.
  • Drizzle 1 tablespoon of soy sauce over the patty.
  • Cover with the second ramen noodle bun.
  • Repeat for the second burger.

Prepare Miso Soup

  • Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan.
  • Reduce heat to a simmer and add the miso paste, stirring until the paste dissolves.
  • Add the cubed tofu, chopped green onions, and seaweed.
  • Let the soup simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Serve in bowls and garnish with sesame seeds.

Tips

  • Ensure the ramen noodles are well-cooled and slightly sticky before shaping them into buns; this helps them hold together better during cooking.
  • For extra flavor, marinate the beef patties in a mixture of soy sauce, garlic, and ginger for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • To make the ramen buns spicier, you can add some chili flakes or sriracha sauce to the noodle and egg mixture.
  • Always taste the miso soup and adjust the saltiness by either adding more miso paste or water, depending on your preference.
  • Roasting the sesame seeds lightly before garnishing the soup can enhance their aroma and flavor.
